First, it's important to say that it appears there is nonlinearity in both the creative process and the perception of art; to date, it seems no one has written papers on these subjects. The nonlinearity addressed here is where nonlinearity is part of deliberate creative strategy. The 'principles' that follow are not exclusive, nor are they necessary, or sufficient; they are energies which flow through some creative output. They are not in order of importance.

x. the artist is not centrally located in the art work
That is, the central relationship between ego and creative output is perturbed. The resultant disruption becomes a continuously changing ground for the creation of novel experiences.

Art practice becomes a strategy repositioned according to content. The tactic is inclusive. Aesthetics mutate according to subject, replicating the adaptive diversity of biological systems.

9. multiplicity and gaps
In dispensing with linear relations as the prime focus, artworks are constituted of multiple parts. Discontinuous spaces are generated, with meaning forced to jump across gaps. Linkages within discreet sections are examined. Rather than articulate space, the components of the artwork connect internally with other components, and externally to reality, via the layered meanings of components.

Energy/matter/natural/cultural boundaries are breached. Rocks and plants can have equal voice to other cultures; energies migrate through all. Dialogue takes place across genres and meaning, rather than within genres and meaning. The boundary of the artwork is not contained, but rather is recognised as leaking into other realms.

Some notes toward the collaboration are linked below. The idea with these notes is to indicate where I am coming from and look at the sort of aspects that can be considered relevant. The relevancies discovered in the collaboration can't be known until collaborators get together. The collaboration will further remove me from the centre of the work, and I hope the collaborators will take over whole portions of it, the boundaries between us leaking in the context of cosmology, chaos (nature), Tasmania, and our collective and individual selves.
