the DISTRICT OF LEISTAVIA constitution voting results

Following voting during ISEA, the results have been collated as displayed below. A summary of these results gives a profile of Leistavians. The voting form questions in their original presentation, are given at the bottom of the page.

Should the borders stay open to outside cultural influence?
Yes 77.3%, No 22.7%
In spite of the difficulties experienced with open cultural borders, there is a strong desire to keep the borders open. Cultural diversity is seen as a positive thing.

Should all nationalities have equal rights?
Yes 76.8%, No 23.2%

Therefore there are no special rights for indigenous peoples, that are not equally applied to non-indigenous. The purity of equal rights for all is upheld.

How is the Head of State decided?
Democracy 9% Monarchy 2%, Meritocracy 59%, Nonarchy 30%

Democracy is not the preferred system of government. The Head of State is elected on the basis of serving the community. There is a strong tendency toward having no Head of State, that is to say a strong sense of individualism and self determination is felt by citizens. Serving the community has a high social and political value in Leistavia.

Economic system
Barter 20% Cash/gold 5% Ecologically sustainable value 61% Spiritual worth 14%

A democratic state with free enterprise financial policies is not the preferred choice. Determining pricing based on Ecologically sustainable value is the economic system of choice - ecology is ingrained in the psyche of the people. There is a large economic sector based on barter, and spiritual values are important to the people.

What two species or categories should be protected?
Insects 10%, Animals 14%, Fish 8%, Birds 15%, Primates 7%, Aliens 6%, Trees 40%

Trees are by far felt to be the most precious of species, deserving protection. Many people feel an alignment with birds. The distinct sense of green energy flowing through the District is recorded in the desire to protect trees and plants. The imaginative side of the culture is reflected in the desire to protect birds. Many Leistavians are caring of animals, and most are ecologically aware of the importance of insects.

What is the worst digital crime?
Lying about your identity online 2%, Slow download times 9%, SPAM 26%, Webcam sites that invade privacy 19%, Govt/CIA monitoring of email 44%.

The monitoring of email by Governments is the worst crime in Leistavia. SPAM is widely frowned upon. There is a strong dislike of Webcam sites that invade privacy. In general, large scale organisations that play a 'big brother' role are not liked. While Leistavians are open as a people, they like their privacy respected.

What is the energy source for Leistavia?
Electricity/wood/oil/gas/coal 7%, Love 20%, Ideas 43%, Random natural forces 27%, Random human forces 2%

The great factory of energy in Leistavia is the energy of ideas. In keeping with the strong sense of green energy felt by many, using unsustainable resources is not the most preferred option. The energies of Nature and Love are strongly felt by the people.

Should all genders be equal in Law?
Yes 91%, No 9%

The overwhelming majority of the community respect the right to gender and sexual orientation of choice. Leistavians are open minded.
