hi Sarah, I was interested in something you mentioned at the closing talk panel session at the symposium. when you mentioned that you wouldn’t class the G-B SCANZ exhibition as a new media exhibition. is this correct – sorry if I misheard what you said. if so, what, in your experience would it need to be a new media exhibition? ie what have other new media exhibitions had that SCANZ didn’t?

and I was also wondering what the artists chosen thought – do they think of their work as new media or is it just another label to them?

just a quick note to say thanks very much to Trudy & Ian for organizing the residency & especially the symposium. and thanks to all the artists who took part. I really enjoyed all the talks – it was great to see such a range of works. and nice to meet those I did. it felt like a good community & it was great to be able to talk about these topics (as other groups I’m in have different conversations). I’m still reading over some of the notes taken during the symposium. some were very inspiring – if only there was more time!

I’d be interested to hear more about the work / ideas during the residency. will the artists be updating this site?
