About the Project

Vallance Wrathall’s installation used short bamboo pieces and white feathers blown by the wind, installed to the right and back of Te Paepae marae.

Short Bio

Of Taranaki and Ngai Tahu descent Vallance Wrathall is a Maori contemporary artist incorporating a Maori narrative to the mediums he works in. He intertwines together the knowledge passed down to him and integrates this into his creative projects. Vallance began creating works in 2005 while living in Palmerston North, New Zealand. His first pieces were heavily influenced by the landscape of his surroundings specifically the region of Taranaki.
